Amy has always had a heart for service and found her calling to serve others in the nonprofit sector while a student at Texas A&M University and throughout her career and volunteer experiences. Whether working in higher education or healthcare, or volunteering through National Charity League and her church, Amy believes in the transformational power of philanthropy.

With over 16 years of fundraising experience, including 9 years in charitable gift planning, Amy has experienced the privilege and joy of helping people and their advisors tailor estate planning options that benefit themselves, their loved ones, and impact their charitable interests for years to come. She has facilitated such conversations with authenticity, genuine care, and the ability to build strong relationships. She is delighted to be a member of the Thompson team where personal values are at the heart of our estate planning process.

Amy has presented at Charitable Gift Planners of Houston’s annual conference, Association of Fundraising Professionals “Ask the Experts” conference in Houston and has been a keynote speaker for large audiences at numerous Texas A&M University alumni events. Amy is a passionate communicator and a writer, having used her degrees in history to become a historian and author of two books, Building Leaders, Living Traditions: The Memorial Student Center at Texas A&M University (TAMU Press, 2009) and Life In Bronze: Lawrence M. Ludtke, Sculptor (TAMU Press, 2013).

Amy and her husband, Robert, live in Seabrook, Texas, and have a wonderful daughter, Ellie, who is an attorney in Washington DC having graduated from Texas A&M University and Georgetown Law School. Amy and Robert remain very active in supporting their alma mater, Texas A&M University, with their time, talent, and treasure. They are Aggie fans through and through and you can usually find them spending their fall and spring weekends in Aggieland, yelling for their Aggie teams! Amy enjoys traveling abroad, Pilates, reading a good book, and spending time with her family and friends.
