After spending the first 15 years of his career in financial services and retirement and charitable trust administration work, John has spent the last 20 plus years working in planned giving as a consultant and in the higher education, healthcare and social services sectors. Talking with individuals about their personal, retirement, philanthropic and estate planning goals and helping them develop plans to meet those goals – is his “happy place.”

John has a great passion for seeing the impact of philanthropy in organizations and communities and loves to be able to use his personal and professional experiences to play a part in the process.

He is a current member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and a member and Past President of the Planned Giving Forum of Greater Sacramento.

Time away from work is spent with family, his wife and high school sweetheart, Ione, and his grown son and his wife and daughter.  Family vacations have included London, Paris, Maui and Disneyland.  At home in Sacramento, running, walking and biking along the American River are a favorite local get-away as is time spent simply working in the yard.  John is a 12-time finisher of the California International Marathon and 2-time finisher of the American River 50 Mile Endurance Run.
