Don Cramer, MBA, CFP, FCEP

Don joined Thompson & Associates in 2014.  Don has over 40 years of experience in the nonprofit world and began his career in fundraising and charitable estate planning in 1978.  He served 19 years as Director of Development for Texas Baptist Children’ Home, 4 years as Vice President for Texas Baptist Missions Foundation (Baptist General Convention of Texas), 11 years as Vice President/COO for Children At Heart Foundation, and most recently as part-time Director of Gift Planning for Children At Heart Foundation.

Don received his BBA from Texas A&M University, Kingsville and his MBA from Middle Tennessee State University where he graduated cum laude.  He became a Certified Financial Planner® in 1995.  He is currently a member and former President of the Planned Giving Council of Central Texas and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas. 

Don has been perfecting his knowledge and skills in the field of charitable estate planning for over 36 years.  He has a passion for helping people achieve their family and charitable estate planning goals in the most tax and cost efficient ways.  The primary focus of Don’s nonprofit career has been building endowment to ensure the long-term financial stability of nonprofits. 

All of Don’s nonprofit career has been with faith-based organizations.  He currently serves as deacon, Bible study teacher, stewardship chairman and financial coach at his church, and has served in many other church leadership roles over the past 40 years.  Faith and integrity have been the top priorities of Don’s personal and professional life.

Don is married to Judy, his best friend and life partner.  They have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
