Dick Meisterling, MBA, FCEP

Dick joined Thompson & Associates in 2013.  He has accumulated 31 years of increasingly responsible positions in higher education development on the heels of nine years building three different companies.  Since 1996, he has served as the Vice President for Advancement at Coe College, a small liberal arts institution in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  During those years, he oversaw two major campaigns, surpassing all goals for each initiative; combined, they garnered in more than $165 million in support of Coe’s mission.

In 2002, with another partner, he founded Advancement Resources, a nationally recognized training organization for development officers and other administrators. Today, the company is a prominent force in the industry.

Dick has volunteered on behalf of several organizations, using his skills to help obtain much needed resources, including the United Way of East Central Iowa, the Cedar Rapids Schools Foundation, Prospect Meadows Baseball Complex, and Theater Cedar Rapids, among others.  He is also the Executive Producer for an independent film, The Summerland Project.

Dick has been married to his wife, Mary, for 36 years, and is proud of his three grown children; twins Bob and Brad, and daughter, Angela, all of whom live in Cedar Rapids.  His undergraduate degree was earned at Xavier University and he completed an MBA in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management.
