Elizabeth Calvert Hickman, CKA®, FCEP

Elizabeth joined Thompson & Associates in 2018 with over 35 years in the financial services world.  She brings significant trust and wealth management experience to the team. Her knowledge of family and estate-planning issues, wealth preservation and wealth transfer, added to her expertise in private foundations, charitable trusts and the needs of the nonprofit sector, enhance the team’s abilities to meet the needs of its clients.

Prior to joining Thompson, Elizabeth spent 15 years as a partner in a Texas based wealth management company.  Additionally, she has over 20 years of experience in all areas of personal trust administration, last serving as Vice President of Global Philanthropic Services in the Wealth Management Consulting Group of the JPMorganChase Private Bank.  Her focus in that role was advising clients throughout the state of Texas, designing strategies to help them achieve their overall philanthropic goals.

Active in the charitable community, Elizabeth has served on the boards of both local and national organizations. She is a past treasurer and national board member of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and has served on professional advisors boards for numerous nonprofits in Houston. She is a founding member and past president of the Planned Giving Council of Houston and is an active member of the Houston Estate and Financial Forum the Houston Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Elizabeth holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Princeton University. She has taught at the Advanced Trust School of the Texas Bankers Association on subjects relating to charitable trusts and private foundations. She earned the Five Star Wealth Manager designation for seven consecutive years, is a Certified Kingdom Advisor®, and a Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning from the Charitable Estate Planning Institute.

Elizabeth is a proud sixth generation Texan.  She is married for over 20 years to Greg and currently lives in Houston. They are active in their church, where they have both served in various leadership positions.  They enjoy using their gifts of hospitality with family, friends and strangers.  They love to read, travel and are passionate about encouraging others to live generous lives.
