Frank Marangos, D.Min., Ed.D.

Dr. Frank Marangos joined Thompson & Associates in 2017.  He has had extensive experience with religious, educational, business, and nonprofit entities providing organizational consulting, assessment, leadership development, instructional training, strategic fundraising, communication, and personalized coaching. He has passionately championed the development/implementation of high-impact philanthropic initiatives through the cultivation of community relationships. Frank was personally awarded a Proclamation by the City Council of New York City for establishing and conducting a noteworthy educational program for young professionals working in Manhattan.

Frank received Post Graduate Degrees in Adult Education (Ed.D.) from NOVA Southeastern University (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and Childhood Education (D.Min.) from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX). He has been invited to participate in national and international think tanks focusing on societal/religious issues hosted by the United States Government (SAG) and Oxford University. He has taught at several American colleges and universities and is a nationally Certified Distance Learning Leader with extensive expertise in developing and conducting online distance learning courses. 

In addition to being a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Marangos is a Certified Practitioner and Interpreter of Myers-Briggs Type Instruments (MBTI), the Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children (MMTIC), KLIEN, and FIRO-B Business™ Assessments. These and other tools provide vital psychometric information for training, teambuilding, organizational development, and personalized business coaching.

Frank has a wealth of experience in the areas of fundraising and strategic planning, as well as financial oversight. He was responsible for the development/implementation of a $5 million capital campaign that led to the design and construction of a national architecturally award-winning church sanctuary. He has developed thematic, multi-year stewardship campaigns that have enlarged parish memberships and increased operational revenues by 300%. His leadership experience also includes the development of a five-year educational strategic plan. He has successfully authored numerous faculty grants and conducted various comprehensive analyses, including a national SWOT effort that involved the development and validation of an organizational climate instrument. He has designed and facilitated environmental scans, interpreted data, and generated organizational focus goals to meet parish needs.

Frank also is Managing Director for The Pelican Group – a highly specialized financial services and development counseling firm that provides financial and strategic consulting, capital resource and investment management advisory services, development and fundraising counsel, and stewardship education to dioceses, schools, universities, religious orders, and other organizations related to and part of the Catholic Church.

Additionally, Frank is a Senior Business Coach and Consultant for AWAKE Consulting Group that provides training and support to entrepreneurial leaders on a variety of business and marketing strategies. He has conducted Focus-Group Research, Organizational Scans (SWOT) and Communication Audits.

Frank is the CEO and Founder of OINOS Consulting that provides a variety of effective strategic solutions to religious, nonprofit and professional learning organizations.  Prior to launching OINOS Educational Services, Marangos served as the National Director of Religious Education and Executive Director of Communications for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He was also Dean of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City.

Frank has distinctive experience as an author, publishing numerous articles in theological publications. Apart from being the founder (1999) and executive editor of Praxis Magazine, a national periodical for religious educators, he currently publishes Frankly Speaking, a monthly commentary on topics pertaining to Church, Culture, and Commerce.  

Frank has been married to his high school sweetheart, Haidee, for 40 years.  They live in South Florida and have one son who is married and practicing law in Ft. Lauderdale.  Frank is an avid golfer and fly fisherman.
